Referendum Elections are held to provide Maine’s citizens an opportunity to vote on People’s Veto Referenda, Direct Initiatives of Legislation (i.e. Citizen Initiatives), Bond Issues, other referenda proposed by the Legislature, and Constitutional Amendments. Referendum elections are an important part of the heritage of public participation in Maine.

Voting will be held at Parsonsfield Town Offices, 634 North Road, Parsonsfield, ME on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm (Please note: Absentee Ballots will be mailed once they become available)
Ways To Request your Absentee Ballot:
- Online Request: https://apps.web.maine.gov/cgi-bin/online/AbsenteeBallot/index.pl (ballots will be mailed starting in October once they become available)
- Complete the Absentee Ballot Application and return it to the Parsonsfield Town Office during regular business hours - Forms are also available at the Town Office. If you want it mailed, then you may drop it off at any time, if you want to pick up your ballot in person, please hold on to the application until the ballots are available at the Town Office (beginning of October).
- Call the Town Office at 207-625-4558 and talk to a clerk; voice messages/emails cannot be accepted and we need to speak to the voter who is requesting the Absentee Ballot (your ballot will be mailed).
- Vote in person during normal business hours once ballots are available (beginning of October).
The last day to vote Absentee is Thursday, October 30th - the clerks office will be open on this day from 8:00am until 4:00pm for absentee voting!
The last day for Voters to register to vote by mail, online or via 3rd party for the November 4th election is Tuesday, October 14th by the end of business day. Starting Wednesday, October 15th only in-person voter registrations will be accepted until Election Day. Voters may come into the town office to register to vote with proof of ID & residency or may do so at the polls on voting day!

2025 Enrollment Options
A Maine registered voter may enroll in one of the following qualified parties by checking the appropriate box on the Maine Voter Registration Application:
- Democratic
- Green Independent
- Libertarian
- Republican
A voter not wishing to join any party should check the “Unenrolled (no party choice)” box on the application.

A voter may enroll in the Constitution Party, a qualifying party, by checking the "Other" box on the voter registration application and writing in the name of the party.

After completing and signing the voter registration application, voters are encouraged to mail it or deliver it directly to the Municipal Clerk or Registrar of Voters in the municipality where they live, to avoid delays in processing.
